Lifestyle Fun, Special and Fabulous! Aleksandra Markovska shares the journey of Eventful Tours

Aleks grew up in the St George area with her sister and their single mother. She recalls a wonderful childhood playing in the street with friends, who she still keeps in contact with to this day. She went to school in the area, and aspired to going into Economics & Law after finishing high school.

Her career plans changed after being inspired by her step-mother who worked in Travel. After much deliberation, Aleks enrolled in a Private Travel & Tourism college, as well as TAFE to study Business Marketing and Small Business Management.

After completing her studies, Aleks became a Travel Consultant and loved booking people’s dream holidays. As part of her job, she travelled through Europe, America and Asia, with her favourite place to visit being Barcelona in Spain. She continued to work for a small boutique agency until an opportunity came about to work for AMEX Corporate Travel.

Then, 12 years ago she started working for Captain Cook Cruises as a Business Development Executive, which she still does to this day. Part of her role is to organise and host events, liaise with Travel Agents and Coach Companies to attract people with special interests. Her role is all about relationship building and ensuring her customers have a great time.

So how was Eventful Tours born you might ask? Aleks says she was always the organiser for family and friends’ holidays, weekends away or general events – mainly because she thoroughly enjoys doing so, but also because she discovered that most people are not that great at organising themselves!

In addition, Aleks saw a gap in the market for middle income locals to go out in the city or attend events in an all-inclusive package. For example, there didn’t seem to be any tour companies picking locals up from their area and taking them to an event or night out with dinner and drinks – returning them safely back. Aleks created Eventful Tours to bridge this gap, and the response has been overwhelming. I should add that not only does she organise the tours and all aspects of them, she also hosts the tour.

Since the initial idea, Aleks has successfully run all-inclusive escort and hosting VIP events at Sydney’s Vivid Lights Festival, Hunter Valley Christmas Lights weekend, and an annual Charity Fundraising Event on board Captain Cook Cruises. Once per year she will be creating an overseas tour, and will be conducting tours around events within Australia for those who want an all-inclusive night, weekend or week away.

Aleks future-plans for Eventful Tours is to provide all-inclusive hosted and escorted tours for special occasions, corporate events, or just for family or friends who want to catch up and have a night out or weekend away. With Aleks contacts in the industry, she can organise some fantastic events within a budget, and we encourage you all to get in touch with her to plan your next special event. You won’t be disappointed!
