Member Showcase Seven years of endota spa Gymea!

When endota spa Gymea opened in the Gymea Tradies club on 29 April 2012, it received more than a few sideways glances from people who couldn’t quite reconcile the idea of a haven of wellness within the walls of a Trade Union Club.

It was such a novelty that it reached the pages of the Daily Telegraph and the screens of local television news reports! The formula was more than a little brilliant however with the marriage of the two businesses becoming a match made in heaven.

Recognising that the last thing most people would want after spending an hour or two relaxing with a massage, facial or spa package would be to have to walk a distance through a busy town centre, or rush back to their car hoping not to have a parking fine, finding the right location was imperative.

By being situated at Tradies, endota spa Gymea allows its clients to take advantage of the free, untimed, ample parking so there is no need to rush back to reality. With multiple dining options within the building, turning a spa treatment into a full day of well-deserved me-time has become a ritual for many clients who understand that self-care is not selfish – but an integral component of a healthy lifestyle.

It has been this opportunity for Sutherland Shire residents to find their trusted haven of wellness and relaxation that has been at the core of the enormous success of the business. Seven years well-spent educating clients about how good they can feel if they prioritise their wellbeing and meeting some amazing people along the way.

Owner, Megan, recalls all the hours spent getting involved with the community and spreading the word about the newly opened spa in their neighbourhood.

“There was simply nothing like endota spa in the Sutherland Shire before we opened. There was another spa in Sans Souci for a short period and numerous smaller salons but there didn’t seem to be to many places where the whole experience could be enjoyed in groups of eight or more in private rooms, with a welcoming organic herbal tea, full consultation to personalise the experience and then an amazing treatment performed by diploma qualified therapists with a true passion for giving their clients the most amazing experience. Most of the work in the early days was simply in getting the word out there into the community that there was this amazing opportunity available to them, right in the heart of the Shire. My team and I attended countless community events like the Cronulla Spring Fair, Gymea Village Fair, Sutherland Districts Rugby Union Club ladies’ day, Pink Ribbon day morning teas and wellness days at Kareela Hospital. We wanted to get to know as many people in the community as we possibly could, and it was such a rewarding experience! Some of the amazing women I met in these early days have been such strong supporters of the business throughout and I take great pride in seeing them in spa now, seven years on. Being part of the amazing community in the Sutherland Shire, getting to know and work with such a fantastic group of local beauty and massage therapists and giving everyone the opportunity to feel even just a bit better – what more is there?”

endota spa Gymea has enjoyed incredible success – being a regular finalist in the Sutherland Shire Local Business Awards Beauty Services Category – and winning in 2015. In that year the spa was also named endota spa Franchise of the year – ahead of 100+ others in the growing network. With endota spa being named the Prix de Marie Claire Best Australian Beauty Brand in 2019 the future for endota spa Gymea is on track to provide even more to the Sutherland Shire.
