Member Showcase Own your own Journey - Rebecca Andrews of Laserclinics shares her story
ShireWomen Business Member Rebecca Andrews is the franchise owner of Laserclinics Caringbah and Miranda.

Rebecca had always had a personal interest in the beauty industry. Upon returning home from a once in a lifetime trip to Europe in her mid 20’s, she knew it was time to think about her future and what she wanted to pursue. She was searching for a change and decided beauty was what she loved, and decided to just go for it. She enrolled herself into a private Beauty Therapy course where she studied for a year and obtained a Diploma of Beauty Therapy, and a Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology Diploma in December 1997.

Since then Rebecca has enjoyed 21 years in Beauty and is proud to have been a part of the massive industry growth during that time.

Rebecca’s career begun when she was fortunate to work for the global brand Dermalogica as the National Education & Administration Manager. She was in this role for 13 years and enjoyed every minute. Her responsibilities included driving the performance of the National Education Centres to achieving industry leading front desk Operational Procedures. Those of you that have been exposed to the Beauty Industry - specifically Dermalogica will know that working for Dermalogica is an achievement in itself, never mind for 13 years! Rebecca had the opportunity to travel both locally and internationally to support Dermalogica implementing global standards to the Australian market. It was a great foundation for her career and she looks back fondly at the time working with other Beauty Therapists and Trainers.

In 2013/2014, Rebecca researched the opportunity to extend her experience in the Shire. She decided, after seeing an opportunity to invest in Laserclinics Australia that this would be her next career move, and became the Franchise owner of the Caringbah and Miranda Clinics. Since this time, she has achieved exceptional business performance driving the team of Caringbah to with the Sutherland Shire Local Business Award for the Beauty Category in both 2014 and 2017. It was Laserclinics Australia’s first small business award and a proud achievement for the team and Rebecca.

Since 2013 both businesses have grown and grown. The Beauty Industry remains challenging but Rebecca has embraced all challenges and has gained valuable experience both professionally and personally. Both Rebecca and her team are dedicated to being the best at what they do, and a visit to either clinic will result in you visiting again.

I asked Rebecca what her driving focus was when getting into the Laserclinics franchise model, and she said it was her desire to own her own journey. It’s one thing to work for a company, but it’s another to run your own franchise with the support of a major brand. Rebecca values being part of a brand she believes in, and puts her all into her clinics. She is clearly a dedicated, talented business woman and she insists it has been an amazing experience and simply loves serving her Sutherland Shire customers.

At Laserclinics Caringbah and Miranda they perform Laser Hair Removal, Advance Skin Treatments and Cosmetic Injectables. It’s a one-stop-shop experience for our clients being the number one beauty provider in the area. We had a look around the Miranda clinic and were blown away by the staff and their knowledge and dedication – a true testament to Rebecca’s management skills.
